Kızlan is the village nearest to the wind mills that you may have noticed on your way to Datça. Kızlan is one of the the main agriculture ares on the peninsular, in fact it is one of the only areas in Turkey where they grow an autumn crop of tomatoes outside, not in greenhouses.
This wide open bay is made up of a stretch of picturesque, shallow little bays and tiny beaches. It is also a lovely, shady, flat walk if you prefer to leave your car and get a little exercise.
The whole bay is about 8 km long, lined with pine on one side trees and shingle beaches on the other. Many of the small coves are buried deep in Neptue’s Grass (the local, Mediterranean seaweed) which makes for a soft cushion to sit on for your picnic lunch.
Snorkelling and fishing are also a popular pastimes along here.
