Marina di Ponto Rotondo is located in the city of Olbia, on the island of Sardinia, in the province of Olbia-Tempio. It is also known as Porto di Ponto Rotondo and Port of Ponto Rotondo and it represents a major tourist destination especially during the summer, thanks to this city’s stunning natural sights and historical heritage. Olbia is well known for its natural treasures of the Emerald Coast and it attracts many holidaymakers. Some of the main attractions in the area are the Romanesque former Cathedral of San Simplicio, the medieval Church of St Paul Apostle and the National Archaeological Museum. This land has a long history which is shared with curious tourists, as well as a delicious local cuisine that is based on fresh fish, seafood and Italian dishes. Olbia has a hot Mediterranean climate which is why water sports and nautical activities can be practised almost all year round. Biking and trekking, horse riding, diving, canoeing, etc., are extremely popular among tourists.
Porto Rotondo is a smart, purpose-built marina and residential development on the famous Costa Smeralda of Sardinia between Punta Nuraghe and Punta Volpe about five miles south of the Maddalena archipelago. Although less famous than its upmarket neighbour Porto Cervo 15 miles to the north, it is in many ways a less pretentious and architecturally more attractive haven for a yacht cruising the NE coast of Sardinia. Developed from the 1960s onwards by a Venetian-led consortium, the harbour has a decidedly Venetian flavour to it – the main square is even called Piazzetta San Marco.
The approach is free from dangers, although strong northerlies send a swell down into the entrance. A course of 130 degrees leads straight through the entrance.
The marina has a total of 650 berths on concrete quays, of which 65 are supposedly reserved for yachts in transit. Depths range from 1.0 – 6.0 metres. Yachts of up to 80 metres can be accommodated (although the very biggest yacths will be berthed on the outside quay). The marina offers a full range of services, including water and electricity at all berths, WCs and showers, slipway, crane (5T) and travel lift (20T) and fuel station.
Marina Puerto Rotondo is located in a natural bay at the Northeast side of Sardinia island, city of Olbia, Italy. With excellent facilities, this modern marina may accommodate 642 sailboats and mega yachts up to 80 meters long and 5.5 meters draft. For those who need to carry out maintenance or repair work, this marina offers various services such as 20 tons crane, slipway, technical expertise, hull work and gas station, among others. It also has bars, restaurants and shops close to the harbor. By booking a berth in this port, you can make a leisure or technical stop before continuing to other Mediterranean destinations.
