Marina di Stabia is also known as Port of Castellamare di Stabia or Port of Stabia and it is located in the Italian municipality of Castellamare di Stabia, near the metropolitan city of Naples, in the province with the same name and the region of Campania. This marina can be found by boat owners in the Gulf of Naples, where charming beaches will be encountered. Tourists who will reach this destination will have the privilege of admiring ancient sites of the former Roman city of Stabiae which was destroyed by an eruption a long time ago. Those who are passionate about ancient civilisations and architecture will be able to visit the excavation of Roman villas that are almost 2000 years old. This town used to be home to Gabriele Capone, Al Capone’s father. Being surrounded by mountains, this is a stimulating destination for nature lovers. There are plenty of great hotels that offer comfortable rooms with surreal panoramas here, such as La Medusa Hotel & Boutique Spa, the Hotel Stabia, etc.
The Marina di Stabia is a huge new marina situated on the E side of the Bay of Naples two miles N of the harbour of Castellammare di Stabia and 14 miles SE of the commercial port of Naples. The marina has two basins, a small northern basin with a boatyard, lift-out point and technical area, and a large southern basin with over 800 berths for yachts of up to 75 metres. Shelter here is excellent in all conditions.
The marina development and the industrial buildings behind it are conspicuous from some distance. In the approach from N, an above-water rocky patch 500 metres offshore and half a mile N of the marina is to be avoided. From S, stay at least 300 metres offshore to avoid the dangerous submerged moles protecting the beach from erosion. The marina is entered from SSE between the end of the long protective breakwater and the shore.
Marina staff will assist with berthing if contacted in advance. Yachts berth on laid moorings on 16 pontoons and associated quays. Depths on the pontoons range from 3.5 to 6.0 meters.
The marina is 10 minutes from the shops and restaurants of the suburb of Santa Maria La Carita.
Transport: Taxis and buses into Naples. Trains to Naples station.
