Kotor is located on the end of the bay of Boka and is a must visit destination for yachts cruising Montenegro. The marina is located in amazing scenery , surrounded by steep mountains and medieval town of Kotor.
It is located in the far south coast of the Bay of Kotor, at the one foot of the Old Town. Situated like this , between high mountains, offers ideal protection for ships and represents natural shelter. Port of Kotor is entry port which is open 24/7, so it is possible to complete all arrival/departure formalities. Capacity of port is 80 berths for vessels from 8 m through to 300 m long superyachts. It is complemented with the Yacht Club called Nautica, located in Old Town which provides numerous services for yacht owners. Also it is good to know that Port of Kotor is only 15 minutes away from Tivat Airport and 90 minutes from Airport Podgorica and Dubrovnik.
Currently fuel dock is not available in Kotor.
Yacht club Nautica was opened in the port of Kotor in 2008. Nautica is located in the old part of the city near the famous cultural center of Nikola Djurkovic, located at the southern entrance gate. The initiator of the club was the port administration, which decided to improve the conditions of stay of owners of yachts moored here. Yachtsmen can relax in the cafe Nautica, have a snack or sit here with a Cup of coffee or a drink stronger. In the yacht club you can get all the necessary information about the weather, the chosen route, and even make an inspection by experts of the technical condition of the yacht. Here you can go wakeboarding, water skiing, etc.for all visitors of the club has a well-equipped showers installed directly on the pier, as well as free Internet in the cafe
Places of interest
The port is surrounded by fortifications created during Venetian period (when the town was ruled by Republic of Venice (697-1797). Bay of Kotor is one of the most indented parts of Adriatic Sea.
In recent years, Kotor enjoys an increase in international tourists, many of whom coming on cruise ships. Visitors are attracted by both the old town and gulf’s scenic beauty.
Along with one of Adriatic’s best preserved medieval old towns, Kotor is also famous with the Saint Tryphon Cathedral (built 1166) and the city walls stretching for 4,5 km (3 ml) above the town.
Sveti Dorde and Gospa od Skrpijela islets off Perast’s coast are also among the tourist destinations in the town’s vicinity.
The town hosts several annual (mainly summer) events, the most popular of which are International Summer Carnival (August), Bokeljska Noc / Boka Night (August), International Fashion Festival (July), Fasinada (July), Child’s Festival (July), Underwater Movie Festival (June), Kotor Carnival (February).
